The Zephyr
The Zephyr Ultra-Low Friction Alternator is an essential product needed to improve the electrical conversion of wind turbines to make them viable in localized on-site energy generation for urban applications. Maglev alternators exist; however, my hypothesis of gaining efficiency by reducing the number of mechanical parts led to the development of the Zephyr Ultra-Low Friction Maglev Generator.
The torque needed to rotate the mechanical parts in traditional generators was significant; therefore, a reduction in resistive drag was needed. After many reiterations, a magnetic bearing system was developed and is now an integral part of the Zephyr.
